A first sitting for people who have not imported to sell in India. One consumer SKU. Then three lines of feedback. Guidance dated 2026.

Who this is for

  • First-time importer — no IEC yet, or you are not sure what that is.
  • One consumer SKU you would actually sell, not industrial cargo.
  • You intend to sell it in India.

What this is not

  • Not ChatGPT. It will not invent an HS code or a licence.
  • Not a Bill of Entry. Cost is a named-assumption sketch. ICEGATE still wins.
  • Not legal advice. Guidance only, dated 2026.

The 15-minute script

Follow this in order. A made-up firm is fine. You do not need a real cost list. Stop if you would pay a factory — that is the point.

  1. Open Home.
  2. Choose “No — this would be my first time”.
  3. On what you already have, choose “None of these”, then Next — the product.
  4. Pick Korean sunscreen. Or type it: South Korea, cosmetics, e-commerce.
  5. On Now, choose an entity type and name a firm so Continue unlocks. A made-up legal name is fine, for example Harborlane Trading Pvt Ltd.
  6. Tap Continue. Stay on Now for Step 2 (PAN / GST / the licence). Do not open Cost yet — Cost is not the next step.
  7. When you have seen the licence step, you may peek Cost and tap Use sample numbers. A real look at Cost belongs before you pay the factory.
  8. Scroll to feedback. Write stuck, confusing, missing. Save on this device, then Copy to send.
